Galloway, andrew diverting card magic while there are twelve tricks explained in this book, it is really about controlling the attention of the spectators. Mr galloway also gives specific details on the handling of the palm, double lift, glide, the pass and the top change. One reviewer wroteactually a discussion of the techniques of attention control (asin misdirection etc) as practiced by the great john ramsay. Mr. Galloway makes his points and illustrates with workable tricks that require some skill (you don't need misdirection if you're not doing anything), but his point is not how to do the sleights invisibly, but how to prevent the spectator from ever becoming suspicious. The reviewer says you don't need misdirection fi you're not doing anything.
I think he is overlooking an important point. It is precisely when you have nothing to hide that you rae 'training' the audience to respond to your 'attention control'. That way, when you do need to apply misdirection, they are already used to your body language. Andrew galloway was a student of john ramsay adn anything he writes is worth the serious study of any serious magician.
